I have been asked by Breckland Council, several people driving through and our Parish Meeting to say thank you to everybody who took part in the litter pick this year. A number of other people were disappointed that they either missed the message that I sent out or were on holiday and so did not manage to make a contribution. 50 bags of rubbish were collected as opposed to 300 and 100 in the previous two years. Clearly we are heading in the right direction with this so thank you everybody again.
Our celebration of the Jubilee Day, by any test, was a demonstration of just how cohesive a community we are, despite being dispersed over a wide geographical area. The overwhelming feedback that I have received is that it was a superb day and that all those who contributed should be thanked and congratulated. Thank you then to The Jubilee Day Team who brought the day about and to everybody who helped and attended on the day to make it such a success.
Once again Norfolk has proved to be the safest place to live in the country and thanks to the vigilance of our residents we continue to enjoy a particularly low rate of crime in this area. Unfortunately, there has been a recent spate of tool thefts from garden and allotment sheds in the areas that surround us and police are inviting us to mark our tools as a deterrent. They will provide a small kit for the purpose called ‘DNA Selecta Marking’. I will be finding out how this works and will collect a kit for anybody who is interested in having one. If you would like me to drop one off to you please let me know.
