A report and update from the 2013 AGM in May
Worthing
Replacement of village sign: decision deferred until next meeting (October 16th). The quote of £2000 would double the Parish precept.
Dog Fouling: Two bins could be afforded. At the October 16th meeting a decision must be made as to whether they are desirable and, if so, where they should be sited. A notice about dog fouling from Breckland is now on the notice boards.
Parish Room
Bureaucratic obstacles have been many but the building will now start on June 17th. The work is fully grant funded and should take 4 – 5 months. The plans are still up on the notice boards. An opening celabration day is being planned for Saturday November 23rd.
Thanks
The work to extend the Parish Room is only possible because James and Victoria Keith have allowed access through their property. In the past they have also made their office kitchen and lavatory facilities available for the presiding officers on election days (enabling the Room to gain income) and on Photo Exhibition Days, the Art and Craft Day and the Jubilee Day (enabling us to show that the Room is useful and valued as a venue).
We are extremely grateful for this.
Billingford Common
Enforcement notices have been served on the owner.
Litter Pick
The 2013 litter pick had to be cancelled. Breckland has now extended its insurance to cover litter picks so I hope parishioners will volunteer for the next one.
Common
Dick Malt gave an update of progress being made in the conservation of Hoe Common. The next workday is Sunday July 14th 10am – 1pm. All welcome.
Tree Warden and Minuting Secretary
Two important but not time consuming voluntary positions. See notice boards and website.
Bottle Bank
We have received £11 from the bottle bank at Corners. Of course this may represent thousands of jam jars. On the other hand it may be a respose to my plea for the Hoe and Worthing Parish to drink more … Cheers!
